It’s been close to a month since we moved into our new house. I love it. The decission to sell our previous house was hard, very hard. It was a house Dad built for us and we all loved it. Well, maybe my little brother not so much since he shared his bedroom with my other brother.
Eventhough our new house is about 100 m² smaller (wow I never realized that until writing this post) it doesn’t feel like that, I do believe at least my bedroom is bigger than my previous one, my mum has her bedroom downstairs (which she loves because she says she’s getting old), and my little brother has his own small bedroom.
We live around the same side of the city we used to, and I love that. The neighborhood is very quiet and I don’t hear crazy kids driving around so fast during the weekend. Wow, I felt old saying that :P
There’s still a lot to do in the new house, so most of the money I earn is going towards it. Hopefully we will finish soon :P
Oh! And you are all welcome to visit :)
Or not that extreme, but still a makeover.
Monday, last week, I went to the stylist for a haircut. I’ve known him for about 10 years, lost track of him and found him again about 2 months ago. What I didn’t think is that I would end up with different hair colors and so many layers in my hair.
But things didn’t end there. I don’t know if you know that I don’t wear make up on a regular basis, so if you have never been to a party with me you would most likely say that I never wear make up. My stylist says so.
He managed to convince me of some sort of makeover, that is going to take place on Thursday. He already got my picture on Monday and apparently there will be more pictures involved.
I have no idea how he convinced me of the makeover thing but more importantly, how he managed to talk me into having my picture taken, at least twice!
I obviously won’t be showing you the pictures, haha, but i will let you know if i like what he did.
Maybe change is good? :)
Carlos Leopoldo me pasó este meme de googlear el nombre de tu blog. (Carlos Leopoldo tagged me with this google your blog’s name meme thing).
Ahora, resulta que el nombre de mi blog es “Re” y pues realmente no dice nada de mí hasta como en la página mil ocho mil, entonces decidí buscar Ivette01 y encontré 1,170. (Now, my blog’s name is “Re” and google doesn’t really say much about me until page number, well I can’t really tell, there are so many pages, so I decided to look for Ivette01 and i found 1,170 results).
No tantos como Carlos Leopoldo, pero lo que me asusta un poquito es que la mayoría de esos resultados si son cosas que yo he dicho! Supongo que en estos tiempos existe la obligación de pensar bien lo que se va a decir en internet… (Not as many as Carlos Leopoldo, but what actually scares me a little bit is that most of those results are things I’ve actually said! I suppose nowadays one should really think before typing anything on the internet…)
Oh! Tal vez sea tiempo de empezar un blog en español… aunque por otro lado, es rara la vez que actualizo (Oh! It might be time to start a blog in spanish… on the other hand, i rarely update)
(I wouldn’t try learning spanish or english from my translations :p)
Inspired by Unclutterer’s “Creating a minimalist workspace”, I’ve decided to organize our study/workspace (our being my little brother’s and mine).
We sold our house, moved to a renting house and will be here until end of April, when we finish building our new house. So, meanwhile, we have to share this space for the purpose of our study/workspace. I don’t mind, it’s big and we usually are here during different times of the day.
So here’s the before: flickr - before: study/workspace (please forgive the quality of the pictures, they were taken with my cellphone, which is not so good).
Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be done and have the after, hopefully too my bro will let me borrow his cellphone for the pics. Wish me luck :)
Wow, it’s really been ages since I’ve updated. My hosting company sent me an email, reminding me that this domain is about to expire and I remembered I hadn’t updated and it got me thinking about wanting or not to keep the domain, since I really don’t even do much with it. Now onto some of my life:
Life has been good. I’ve been swimming on a regular basis since July and I don’t see me leaving it, it’s like I’m addicted to it, even now that the weather is cold and I have to wear a hat when leaving the swimming pool place.
I’ve been doing some work from home, but I think I’m ready to start looking for those long hours at some company. I met someone that seemed special enough for me to dare trusting again but he disappeared (no calls, no messages, no nothing) about a week ago so I guess I got it wrong again. I don’t regret it, I had an amazing time. Although to be honest it’s very hard, I gotta stay away from the phone before I end up looking like the crazy ex-gf, so really, long hours at some job seem like the perfect way to forget.
Remember I got a new cam? It got stolen. Again. I don’t even want to think about it. I guess now I know what I want for Christmas. Talking about that, wow! time flies and I’m starting to feel I’m getting old :p
One of my university friends called yesterday, she said I’m going to be an auntie. It feels good people love you enough they see you like a sister. It made me feel very good, specially since she’s been going thru some very hard times and she was really looking forward to getting pregnant.
You would think after all this time of not updating I would have much more to say but I think my mind went blank.
If you celebrate it, have a great halloween and save me some candy.
I have had a flickr account for a while, never really used it. Lately though, I’ve been browsing some sets of people i have met through twitter. One of them recommended me some program to upload pictures and i thought i would give it a try. I had taken some pictures of my garden and thought i would share with you.
Maybe i’ll stop being shy and share more pictures of my life :)
Remember I told you about some academic merit prize? Well, they gave me a computer and some diploma. It was a nice ceremony at one of the theaters, there was a conference that kept us laughing for about 40 minutes. 259 people got the prize, from highschoolers to PhDs.
I kept the computer in the boxes for about 2 weeks until today. Yesterday I finally went out and bought some desk. Today we set it up and I uploaded this pic on flickr, taken with my new cam, bought last weekend in my shopping trip to El Paso.
Something tells me this should make me happy for a while… if only that friend of mine would at least talk to me.
Everytime I looked at this blog I felt there was something so wrong with it and never realized until today. The text wasn’t justified. I guess I’m sort of weird because I really hate when text is not justified.
That’s all!
- the beach was amazing
- I didn’t get many birthday presents, I guess everyone decided it was cool since I was away :p
- birthday was awesome though
- my tan is gorgeous
- the “state” is handing out prizes for the “academic merit”, I was invited. I’ll let you know what they are giving away- I had to have my teeth fixed, they look way better
- I went to see pirates of the caribbean. I am still in love with johnny depp
- I am having a mango smoothie. who the hell comes up with such delicious things?
- I think I screwed up one of the nicest things I was having with a guy lately. I’ll see him again in a week. we’ll see how bad I screwed up then.
- friend of mine calling. party tonite!
