Wireless internet in the city park

There’s many times I hear how a city square or some public place in some big city gets wireless internet and I used to think we would never have that.

Well, see, the same government that gave me a computer due to my very good grades, has provided our park (around 6 hectares, which would be about 14.83 acres) with wireless internet, how cool is that? Specially since around the park there are a few schools.

I’m really thinking my visits to the park will be more than once every 3 months from now on.

Project: Organizing the study/workspace

Inspired by Unclutterer’s “Creating a minimalist workspace”, I’ve decided to organize our study/workspace (our being my little brother’s and mine).

We sold our house, moved to a renting house and will be here until end of April, when we finish building our new house. So, meanwhile, we have to share this space for the purpose of our study/workspace. I don’t mind, it’s big and we usually are here during different times of the day.

So here’s the before: flickr - before: study/workspace (please forgive the quality of the pictures, they were taken with my cellphone, which is not so good).

Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll be done and have the after, hopefully too my bro will let me borrow his cellphone for the pics. Wish me luck :)

Back and with a new look

hey! It’s been ages, I know. I can’t believe how time is flying.

I’ve been working a lot with wordpress (which I love) and themes and what it takes to modify or implement. While doing so I came across EvanEckard’s amazing designs, and his Gotham Nights wordpress theme, and couldn’t help remembering I had a blog and wanting to use his theme.

I’ve added a page, different content in the sidebar tabs, rewrote the about page, and you know, things like justifying the text. I believe everything is working very well.

All I was missing was a new post, Leo has been pushing me to write some, so with this new look my blog is back,  and one of my goals is to update it more often. Maybe saying it out loud will help me achieve it.

Wow, it’s really been ages since I’ve updated. My hosting company sent me an email, reminding me that this domain is about to expire and I remembered I hadn’t updated and it got me thinking about wanting or not to keep the domain, since I really don’t even do much with it. Now onto some of my life:

Life has been good. I’ve been swimming on a regular basis since July and I don’t see me leaving it, it’s like I’m addicted to it, even now that the weather is cold and I have to wear a hat when leaving the swimming pool place.

I’ve been doing some work from home, but I think I’m ready to start looking for those long hours at some company. I met someone that seemed special enough for me to dare trusting again but he disappeared (no calls, no messages, no nothing) about a week ago so I guess I got it wrong again. I don’t regret it, I had an amazing time. Although to be honest it’s very hard, I gotta stay away from the phone before I end up looking like the crazy ex-gf, so really, long hours at some job seem like the perfect way to forget.

Remember I got a new cam? It got stolen. Again. I don’t even want to think about it. I guess now I know what I want for Christmas. Talking about that, wow! time flies and I’m starting to feel I’m getting old :p

One of my university friends called yesterday, she said I’m going to be an auntie. It feels good people love you enough they see you like a sister. It made me feel very good, specially since she’s been going thru some very hard times and she was really looking forward to getting pregnant.

You would think after all this time of not updating I would have much more to say but I think my mind went blank.

If you celebrate it, have a great halloween and save me some candy.

Even i got it!

I have had a flickr account for a while, never really used it. Lately though, I’ve been browsing some sets of people i have met through twitter. One of them recommended me some program to upload pictures and i thought i would give it a try. I had taken some pictures of my garden and thought i would share with you.

Maybe i’ll stop being shy and share more pictures of my life :)

On the prize

Remember I told you about some academic merit prize? Well, they gave me a computer and some diploma. It was a nice ceremony at one of the theaters, there was a conference that kept us laughing for about 40 minutes. 259 people got the prize, from highschoolers to PhDs.

I kept the computer in the boxes for about 2 weeks until today. Yesterday I finally went out and bought some desk. Today we set it up and I uploaded this pic on flickr, taken with my new cam, bought last weekend in my shopping trip to El Paso.

Something tells me this should make me happy for a while… if only that friend of mine would at least talk to me.

Everytime I looked at this blog I felt there was something so wrong with it and never realized until today. The text wasn’t justified. I guess I’m sort of weird because I really hate when text is not justified.

That’s all!

or not, but hey, I can dream :p

Today is my last day at school… finally! It’s been a huge effort and I guess it’s been worth it. Today we have some talk and then mariachis and beers, how fun is that? Later, a dinner with our friends and family.

Tomorrow is my birthday. And at about 6am we are driving to the beach to celebrate our graduation, but of course, I will be celebrating my birthday too.

And then, back to the city on Monday nite and back to reality on Tuesday. I guess I will start worrying about my next step then.

Oh, yes of course I am still alive. It’s just been a bit crazy. I still read you all and so I will comment here some and I promise to be back to commenting soon:

Jennifer, things with Ben seem great! Toni, I’m so glad there was nothing wrong with your head. Darren, did you go to a Barcelona game and didn’t invite me? Nieke, I love all those links. Sofie, get back to blogging. Arancha, if you still read, I totally miss you. People that read and don’t comment, I think I would like you more if I knew who you were. ;)
